A type size is only one part of a typographic role. Its line height, tracking, width, wrapping, and surrounding space determine how it works in a page.
Record the relationship, not the screenshot
Two elements may share the same size without sharing the same job. Conversely, a role can stay consistent while its size changes across a responsive range. The durable rule describes the relationship and the conditions under which it applies.
Make room for legitimate change
A longer paragraph should move the content below it. A component placed in a narrower container should adapt to that container. These changes are not defects; they are evidence that the system understands its inputs.
